Come essiccare le ortensie- how to dry hydrangeas flowers DIY

Riprendo questo mio diario del giardino dopo una lunga pausa estiva che mi è servita non solo per riposarmi e ricaricare le batterie, ma anche per dare vita a nuovi progetti che coinvolgono direttamente anche questo blog. Sarà un lungo lavoro, ma sono fiduciosa che passo dopo passo, questo mio sogno possa diventare realtà.

In giardino l'autunno si sta già facendo strada piano piano e uno dei lavori che possiamo fare in questo momento è essiccare le infiorescenze delle idrangee che si stanno già rivestendo dei colori caldi che tanto amiamo. 

Ecco come ho fatto io stamattina, pochi passi semplici ed efficaci, garantiti da Laura di @gardenanswer.

Dopo un giro in giardino, ho scelto le infiorescenze di questa Hydrangea macrophilla di cui non conosco il nome, non solo per i bellissimi colori, ma anche per la particolare forma dei fiori stradoppi.

A questo punto, ho tagliato i rami appena sopra ad una gemma, così:

                                                        

Dopo aver tolto le foglie, ho tagliato a metà il segmento inferiore in senso diagonale, per garantire un maggiore assorbimento dell'acqua.

 E' il momento di sceglliere il vaso, meglio se alto e stretto. Versate due dita di acqua fresca che, idraterà i fiori mantenendoli freschi man mano che seccano. Poi l'acqua evaporerà e i fiori si disidrateranno lentamente. Il vaso si deve tenere in casa lontano dai raggi diretti del sole.

 Ci vorranno circa quindici giorni per un buon risultato. Una volta secchi, i fiori potranno essere usati per ghirlande, composizioni o quanto altro la vostra creatività vi suggerisce....io ho già in mente qualcosina, seguitemi! Fatemi sapere se anche voi usate questo procedimento per essiccare i fiori o se, invece avete un altro metodo. C'è sempre da imparare, anche in giardino!

Here I am, back to work after the summer break. I took a lot of time to relax with the family, but also to dream big and make new project that involve also this blog of mine! So, fingers crossed!!! 

I am definitely in love with fall and September opens the door to this absolutely gorgeous season so full of beauty. Today I took a walk in the garden to chose the right hydrangeas to dry up. I followed the tips given by Laura of @gardenanswer and I'm happy to share them with you: easy and quick!

After having chosen the most beautiful flowers, cut them up right above the node, remove all the leaves and refresh the cut on the stem between two nodes. Time to chose the vase now! You'd be better chose a tall one, then pour a little bit of water in it. This is it! Put the vase inside, out of direct sun light and after about fifteen days you'll have your flowers ready for stunning fall arrays. I'm already thinking about how to use mine, so follow me and I'll share my ideas with you!
